Day 127: Up +19.89% stay invested

The Mother's Little Helper portfolio was up +0.23% today for a gain of +$1,630.13. Overall gain to date: +$116,124.52 (+19.89%). According to CNN Money the S&P 500 is up +6.80% Year To Date (http://money.cnn.com/data/markets/sandp/).

The big story today is......we're up +19.89%. The S&P 500 is up 6.80%. Kevin O'Leary of Shark Tank fame has an exchange traded fund called O'Shares (OUSA) it's only up +5.48% so you did better buying an S&P 500 index fund for a fraction of the cost. Bershire Hathaway B shares are up 1.51% YTD. So overall we should be happy with the return. Let's see how the rest of the year plays out.

IPG Photonics, Dorman Products, Mylan and Pfizer all reported earnings today. Mylan wasn't available at the time I wrote this. I'll update the chart tomorrow. So far the majority of our portfolio companies are reporting better than expected earnings. Just to be clear, that's their job. Meeting earnings expectations is not exemplary, beating analysts estimates is expected.

Stay Invested,
